launch of Urbanization plan for South Sudan scheduled for June 9th.2026
The Governorof Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony met with a technical team working on urbanization plan on Thursday.
The Team comprising of the World Bank led by Mr. Drrma Bank Dominic and the inter-Governmental Technical Committee headed by Mrs. Savia Aya Silvester says it’s working on launching of Urbanization Review Plan scheduled for 9th. June, 2026.
“This review has been taking place for the last three years and now, on June 9th 2026 we will launch the report and the governor is one of the dignitaries invited to attend the event at the University of Juba.” Said Mr. Juma.
The World Bank’s Urbanization Reviews are diagnostic frameworks designed to help cities and national leaders manage urban growth with focus on unlocking economic prosperity by identifying policy bottlenecks and prioritizing investments to build livable, inclusive, and resilient cities.
Governor Adil appreciated the team for the courtesy visit, acknowledging the World bank’s vital support in areas of public service delivery, strengthening financial sector and community resilience.
The Governor reiterated his commitment in working together with World Bank in achieving concrete and actionable recommendations on the upcoming Urbanization Review Plan.
