South Sudan Reaffirms Support for CTSAMVM During Leadership Transition

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Amb. Dr. James Pitia Morgan, on Monday received the outgoing Chairman of the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM), Maj. Gen. Thesome Anagwe, during a farewell courtesy visit in Juba.
During the meeting, Maj. Gen. Anagwe expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Government of South Sudan for their continued cooperation and support in facilitating the implementation of CTSAMVM’s mandate and operational activities.
The outgoing chairman also introduced his successor, Maj. Gen. Molla Hailemariam, who will assume the role of Chairperson, alongside the incoming Deputy Chairperson, Maj. Gen. Mohamed Elmurtada El Sheikh.
Minister Morgan commended Maj. Gen. Anagwe for his service and contributions to the work of CTSAMVM, wishing him success in his future assignments.
He also welcomed the incoming leadership, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to maintaining close cooperation with CTSAMVM in support of the implementation of South Sudan’s peace agreement and ongoing security arrangements.Category: Politics / Peace & Security
