Unity Deputy Governor, Energy Minister Discuss Electricity and Peace

South Sudan’s Minister of Energy and Dams, Agok Makur Kur, met with Unity State Deputy Governor William Garjang Kuenyik on Thursday to review progress on electricity and energy needs in the state.
The Sept. 17 meeting followed up on previous discussions between the ministry and the Unity State government, focusing on developments in the electricity sector and outstanding challenges affecting energy services.
The two officials discussed practical steps to strengthen coordination between the ministry and the state government to improve electricity services for residents.
They also discussed peace, peaceful coexistence and stability in Unity State, emphasizing the importance of coordinated government and community efforts to address challenges facing the population.
The meeting underscored the need for continued communication and follow-up to turn previous discussions into practical actions supporting energy access, development and stability in the state.
