Russian Ambassador Delivers Putin’s Birthday Message to South Sudan President

Russian Ambassador to South Sudan Aleksandr Kosmodemyansky delivered a congratulatory message from Russian President Vladimir Putin to South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit during a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister James Pitia Morgan on Friday.

The meeting, held in Juba on Sept. 18, focused on strengthening bilateral relations between South Sudan and Russia, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The two officials also discussed preparations for the upcoming polling station at the Russian Embassy in Juba for Russia’s State Duma elections, as well as plans for high-level visits between the two countries in the near future.

The ministry did not provide further details on the planned visits or the arrangements for the polling station.
