Bt Atui John Malual

South Sudanese women called on all signatories of the R-ARCSS agreement to de-escalate tensions through dialogue as the primary means of conflict resolution.

on Monday, the Women, group urged the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare, Ministry of Peacebuilding, and Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs to collectively and urgently respond to the ongoing conflict by prioritizing dialogue, enforcing the rule of law, protecting vulnerable citizens, and fast-tracking the implementation of the peace agreement to restore stability, security, and justice to all citizens.

The women also called on CTSAMVM, R-JMEC, the African Union, and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) to intensify their efforts in promoting peace and security in South Sudan by strictly adhering to ceasefire agreements, holding all parties accountable for breaches, and working together to end the current conflict while prioritizing the protection of civilians and long-term regional stability. They urged citizens to denounce social media abuse for spreading hate speech, inciting propaganda, and disseminating misinformation and disinformation, warning that these actions only fuel tensions and deepen community divisions.
