Three people killed in fatal road accident in Unity state

Three people have been confirmed dead following Sunday’s fatal road accident along the road linking Rubkona town to Bentiu town.

Capt. Damai Kai Dak, the Unity State director of traffic police, said the three people were riding on a boda-boda before they got involved in a collision at 12:00 A.M with the driver of a sino truck belonging to Amaars Company.

“The Amaars Company truck driver was arrested including his Sino truck, he is in detention facility and the investigation is ongoing,” Dak told Juba Echo.

He added that the state traffic police have deployed traffic police on the major roads in the state to limit road carnage.

“This year more than 20 people have died due to road accidents, we have found out that many drivers do not follow road driving safety, recently we have arrested many drivers with their cars,” Dak said.

He disclosed that they will forward the case so that the families of the deceased are compensated.

“The driver of Amaars Company truck who knocked people to death is an Ethiopian citizen  contracted by Amaars Company in Unity State,” Dak revealed.
