South Sudan, China Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Relations
South Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Amb. Dr. James Pitia Morgan, on Monday held a meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to South Sudan, H.E. Ma Qiang, to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the longstanding friendship between South Sudan and China and reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening ties between the two countries.
Minister Morgan also acknowledged the congratulatory message sent by Chinese President Xi Jinping to President Salva Kiir Mayardit on the occasion of South Sudan’s 15th Independence Anniversary, describing it as a reflection of the strong relations between the two nations.
The discussions further focused on the implementation of projects agreed upon during the most recent China-Africa Summit. The two officials also explored mechanisms for advancing the agreed initiatives, including efforts to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The meeting underscored the continued commitment of both governments to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest and enhancing the strategic partnership between South Sudan and China.
