South Sudan has officially been admitted as a full member of the World Minifootball Federation (WMF), marking a milestone in the development of minifootball in the country.

The approval was granted during the WMF General Assembly held Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, in Jakarta, Indonesia, according to the South Sudan Minifootball Federation (SSMF).

The admission follows provisional membership granted to the SSMF by the WMF Executive Committee on June 18, 2026.

The federation said full membership places South Sudan within the global minifootball community and opens opportunities for international participation, institutional development, technical cooperation and capacity building.

It is also expected to create greater exposure for South Sudanese players, coaches, referees and administrators.

The SSMF thanked the WMF leadership and member associations for their confidence and support.

The federation dedicated the achievement to South Sudan’s sporting community and those who have supported the establishment and development of minifootball in the country.
