Central Equatoria Government Condemns Deadly Eco-Bus Ambush, Assures Public of Security

The Central Equatoria State Government has strongly condemned the ambush of an Eco-Bus traveling from Bor to Juba, describing the attack as a heinous act and assuring the public that security agencies are working to bring those responsible to justice.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Information and Communication said the attack occurred at around 10:30 a.m. in Morgiri Boma, Juba County, where unknown armed individuals ambushed the passenger bus.
According to the ministry, the driver was killed during the attack.
The state government expressed deep sorrow over the incident and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that those responsible are identified, arrested, and prosecuted.
“Our security forces are working tirelessly to identify and bring the culprits to justice,” the statement said.
Authorities also sought to reassure residents that the security situation in both Juba and Bor remains calm, adding that security personnel have intensified patrols and monitoring along key routes to prevent further attacks.
The government urged citizens to continue with their normal daily activities while remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities or security threats to the relevant authorities.
“The cooperation of the public is crucial in maintaining peace and security across Central Equatoria State,” the ministry noted.
The government further extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased driver, describing the killing as a senseless act and expressing solidarity with those affected by the tragedy.
The statement concluded by reaffirming that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the government’s top priority and pledged to continue strengthening security measures to ensure a safe environment for all residents.
