Patrick Oyet to Receive Prestigious Clevenard Global Award in Spain.
Alicante, Spain — Patrick Oyet, Founder and CEO of Juba Echo TV, is set to be honored with a prestigious honorary award at the Clevenard Open Project 2026.
The recognition will be presented during the Clevenard Global Awards 2026, scheduled for 30 August 2026 at the Palacio de Congresos de Alicante. The awards ceremony forms part of the broader Clevenard Open Project, taking place from 27–30 August 2026, alongside an international fashion runway event.
The Clevenard Global Awards celebrate influential leaders from across the world whose work has had a lasting impact on society, governance, and global development.
Keynote Address on Media and Nation-Building
In addition to receiving the award, Oyet will deliver a keynote address on 29 August 2026 during the Global Tourism & International Film Celebration segment of the forum.
His keynote, titled “The Role of Media in Nation-Building, Democratic Governance, and Global Storytelling,” will highlight the critical role of journalism in shaping democratic societies and amplifying global narratives.
A Leading Voice in South Sudan’s Media Landscape
Born in 1981, Oyet is widely regarded as one of South Sudan’s leading media professionals and civic voices. He holds a Diploma in News Journalism from the London School of Journalism, a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Makerere University, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Juba.
Throughout his career, he has worked with Feature Story News and contributed to major international media outlets, helping bring African perspectives to global audiences.
Oyet currently serves as President of the Union of Journalists of South Sudan, where he advocates for press freedom, journalist safety, and professional ethics.
Role in Governance and Constitutional Development
Beyond journalism, Oyet plays a significant role in South Sudan’s governance processes. He serves as Chairperson for Civic Education and Public Consultations at the National Constitutional Review Commission, where he promotes citizen participation in shaping the country’s constitutional future.

As the founder of Juba Echo TV, Oyet has contributed to the growth of independent broadcasting and media diversity in South Sudan. His work continues to influence transparency, civic engagement, and sustainable development in the country.
