Police arrest man suspected to have killed client over 1,000 SSP

Police in Aweil Center County in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state have arrested suspect accused of killing his client over debt of 1,000 South Sudanese Pounds.
Pasquale Dimo, the Police Inspector of Barmayen Chier payam told Juba Echo on Monday that the accused Wol Unguec,26, a mechanic hit the deceased Chan Akuar after the latter failed to repay his balance of 1,000 SSP meant for repairing his motorcycle.
“The suspect is a mechanic who repaired the motorbike of the victim whom he hit in the neck after the man failed to pay the money,” Dimo said.
“It is something very unfortunate. People do take the law into their hands and it is something uncalled for. If you demand someone money just go to the police and open the case instead of resorting to a fight,” he added.
Dimo said the deceased passed on after being rushed to a nearby clinic.
He disclosed the suspect will be arraigned in court.
Violence and criminal acts such as theft have recently spiked in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state.
