HWPL’s 12th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace Successfully Held in Yaoundé, Cameroon

HWPL’s 12th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace was recently held in downtown Yaoundé, Cameroon. The event brought together members of the international peace NGO Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), and citizens aspiring for peace.
In celebration of the 12th anniversary of the Declaration of World Peace, HWPL hosted commemorative events in 94 cities across 61 countries. In Yaoundé, Cameroon, the event was marked by a peace walk to raise awareness about the importance of peace, along with a street clean-up campaign in honor of World Environment Day on June 5. Notably, the event was held shortly after May 20, Cameroon’s National Day, commemorating national unity, making it a meaningful occasion to deliver a message of peace and unity.
The event began with reading a peace message from HWPL Chairman Lee. In his letter, he called on citizens around the world to actively participate in the realization of peace and emphasized the need for international solidarity to end the conflicts and wars facing humanity.
The main program, the Peace Walk, followed. Participants marched around Yaoundé City Hall (Hotel de Ville), spreading the message of peace through their steps. And, they carried out a street clean-up activity, putting the values of peace into practice through action during the peace walk.
Dzudie Fotso Jerome, a participant in the event, shared his thoughts, saying, “Through the Peace Walk, it became a moment to respect our differences and foster unity. Despite the hot weather, watching citizens’ participation with bright smiles gave me hope for a united world and a true sense of peace.”
He added, “This Peace Walk has become a seed of peace that envisions a future where all people are united beyond their differences. I hope this event continues yearly so true peace can take root on the globe.”
The HWPL Cameroon branch plans to continue promoting HWPL’s vision and the values of peace throughout the country. With various initiatives, they aim to encourage active citizen participation and contribute to raising public awareness of peace.
