High-level Ethiopian delegation delivers message to al-Burhan, reaffirms support for Sudan’s peace efforts

A high-level Ethiopian delegation led by Redwan Hussien, Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Service has delivered a message from Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) to Sudanese leader General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, reaffirming Ethiopia’s support for Sudan’s efforts to “ensure peace and stability.”

The message was handed over in Port Sudan by Redwan and Getachew Reda, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on East African Affairs, according to the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA).

Redwan said the delegation was received with a “warm welcome” and stated that Ethiopia will “continue its unwavering support” for Sudan’s efforts to achieve peace and stability.

Port Sudan has become the temporary seat of Sudan’s military leadership following the outbreak of war in April 2023, which forced the relocation of government institutions and international organizations from Khartoum.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed previously visited Port Sudan for an official work trip, which his office described as “a further step” in his government’s efforts to help stabilize Sudan.
