Governor Adil Joins Juba Clean-Up Campaign

Central Equatoria Gov. Emmanuel Adil Anthony on Saturday joined residents in Juba for the second consecutive weekly clean-up exercise under the state’s Keep Juba Clean, Green and Safe Campaign.

The campaign designates every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. for citywide cleaning, with the aim of promoting cleanliness, environmental responsibility and public health across the capital.

Juba City Council Mayor Christopher Sarafino Swaka, speaking during the exercise, commended residents for turning out and taking part in the initiative.

Swaka said maintaining a clean city is a shared responsibility between the government and residents, with authorities providing regulations, coordination and logistical support while individuals are responsible for keeping their homes, businesses and surrounding areas clean.

He urged government officials, business owners and residents to dedicate the two-hour Saturday period to cleaning their surroundings and to make cleanliness a daily practice.

Swaka also called on residents to stop littering and comply with Juba City Council by-laws. He said the council would continue public awareness efforts before strengthening enforcement of the regulations.

He thanked residents for supporting the campaign and encouraged greater participation in the coming weeks as authorities work toward a cleaner, greener and safer Juba.
