Governor Adil Calls for Peaceful Coexistence as Wonduruba Residents Seek Development Support

Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has called on residents of Wonduruba Administrative Payam to embrace peace, unity and peaceful coexistence, saying stability is essential for sustainable development.

Governor Adil made the remarks during a public rally in Wonduruba on Saturday as part of the state government’s ongoing tour to assess community needs and challenges across Central Equatoria State.

The governor, who was accompanied by state ministers, members of the State Legislative Assembly, senior security officials, members of the State SPLM Secretariat and senior civil servants, conveyed greetings and a message of peace from President Salva Kiir Mayardit and the national leadership.

Adil urged residents to protect peace and work closely with government authorities to promote stability and development in their communities.

“Peace remains a fundamental foundation for development,” the governor said, stressing that stability is necessary to improve public services and infrastructure.

He also encouraged residents to participate in government programs and contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening unity and improving living conditions.

The governor said the state government would continue engaging communities across Central Equatoria to identify their priorities and determine ways to address challenges affecting residents.

Meanwhile, Wonduruba Administrative Payam Coordinator Towongo Stephen appealed to the state government for increased support to address pressing community needs.

Towongo presented a memorandum to the governor outlining development priorities and called for greater government intervention to improve basic services and infrastructure in the area.

The state government tour is expected to continue in Yei and Morobo counties as authorities engage local communities on peace, development and service delivery.
