The Central Equatoria State Government has urged cattle traders operating in Mogiri Boma of Mangalla Payam to embrace peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
This appeal followed an official visit to Mogiri Cattle Market by a government delegation led by Angelo Daya, the State Advisor for Peace and Security. The visit aimed to assess the status of cattle trading activities in the area.
Mogiri Cattle Market primarily hosts traders from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area.
Addressing the traders, Daya emphasized the importance of cooperation and respect for local communities.
“When you come with your cows, notify the relevant authorities in Central Equatoria, particularly in Juba, because your security here is a shared responsibility,” he stated.
Leon Abe Brown, the State Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agency conveyed a message from the Governor of Central Equatoria State highlighting the need for unity among cattle traders.
“Peaceful coexistence among you as cattle traders is essential in promoting economic stability,” he said.
Representing the cattle traders from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, Zakaria Kengen expressed gratitude for the State government’s visit and engagement. He called for “inter-state collaboration between Central Equatoria and the Greater Pibor Administrative Area to enhance the cattle trade.”
