Central Equatoria Security Committee Addresses Revenue Malpractices, Security Concerns

The Central Equatoria State Security Committee has called for action against unauthorized revenue collectors and reviewed a range of security and administrative concerns across the state.

The committee held its 24th meeting of 2026, chaired by Deputy Gov. Paulino Obede, who represented Gov. Emmanuel Adil Anthony.

The meeting reviewed reports from state security organs on the overall security situation, the state’s economic position and emerging issues affecting residents’ well-being.

Obede expressed concern over alleged malpractices involving self-deployed revenue collectors. He directed security organs to identify individuals involved in unauthorized revenue collection and related activities and take appropriate action in accordance with the law.

The committee also discussed security and administrative issues in Kajo-Keji County, including the need to strengthen relations among neighboring communities.

It resolved to establish a committee to engage communities, promote dialogue and address local concerns peacefully at the grassroots level.The meeting further considered reports of illegal courts operating in parts of Central Equatoria.

The committee said the courts had created administrative and legal overlaps and tasked the state attorney general with examining the matter and proposing appropriate legal measures.

Obede emphasized the importance of coordinated leadership and urged state institutions and security organs to operate within the law to maintain peace, security and public order across Central Equatoria.
