Central Equatoria State Delegation Arrives in Rokon to Ease Moru–Mundari Tensions

A high-level delegation from the Central Equatoria State Government has arrived in Rokon, Terekeka County, to engage local leaders and communities in efforts to resolve ongoing cattle-related conflicts and restore peace.
The delegation, led by the State Security Advisor and the Commissioner of Terekeka County, is conducting consultations aimed at easing tensions between the Mundari and Moru communities following a series of violent incidents linked to cattle raiding.
The intervention follows reports that cattle belonging to members of the Moru community in Western Equatoria were stolen, sparking retaliatory raids by armed youth and raising security concerns in the area.
State authorities say the mission is focused on promoting dialogue, preventing further violence, and finding lasting solutions to recurring disputes over cattle and community relations.
