Young Africans SC’s handling of Uganda Cranes midfielder Allan Okello is proving to be a major success both on and off the pitch.

Yanga reportedly signed Okello from Ugandan side Vipers SC for about $300,000 in January 2026. Just seven months later, the Tanzanian champions are set to receive a transfer package reportedly worth $1.5 million from Moroccan giants AS FAR Rabat.

The deal represents a fivefold return on Yanga’s initial investment, with the club potentially making about $1.2 million from the transfer.

Okello also delivered on the field after joining Yanga midway through the season. He finished the campaign as the club’s leading scorer with 14 league goals and helped the team retain the Tanzanian Premier League title.

The transfer fee is also significantly higher than Okello’s current Transfermarkt market valuation of about $578,300, highlighting Yanga’s ability to negotiate a premium price for the Uganda international.

In just over half a year, Yanga have turned a reported $300,000 investment into a $1.5 million transfer asset while benefiting from 14 league goals and another domestic title.

Buy for $300,000. Get 14 goals. Win the league. Sell for $1.5 million.
