Governor Adil Inspects Morobo Hospital, Schools During County Tour
Central Equatoria Gov. Emmanuel Adil Anthony inspected Morobo Hospital and two schools during a tour of Morobo County aimed at assessing essential services and addressing challenges facing local communities.
Adil, accompanied by State Health Minister Joyce Bakwa Agole and other government officials, inspected Morobo Hospital to assess its facilities, operations and the quality of health services provided to residents.
The governor listened to concerns from health workers and community members and reviewed challenges affecting the delivery of health services. The visit formed part of his broader engagement in Morobo County to identify priority needs and strengthen essential public services.
Adil also inspected Umbachi Primary School and Kanyara Secondary School, where he met teachers and students and assessed the condition of the learning facilities.
At Umbachi Primary School, the governor acknowledged difficult learning conditions caused by damaged classrooms, rainy weather and the effects of conflict. He commended teachers for continuing to serve students despite the challenges.
Adil directed the State Ministry of General Education and county education authorities to assess qualified volunteer teachers for possible integration into the government system. He also instructed the county commissioner to engage an engineer to assess the school and donated 50 million South Sudanese pounds for brick molding to support rehabilitation efforts.
At Kanyara Secondary School, the only functional secondary school in Morobo County, local officials appealed for government support to transform the institution into a boarding school.
State Education Minister Lupai Satimon outlined plans to improve the school’s facilities and support the integration of qualified volunteer teachers.
Students told the governor about inadequate classroom seating and the absence of a school feeding program. The school currently has 86 students, including 30 girls.
Adil urged students to remain focused on their education, describing education as a long-term investment in their future. He particularly encouraged girls to remain in school and prepare for future leadership roles.
The governor announced that Kanyara Secondary School would be upgraded into a boarding and day secondary school, with improved facilities and plans to establish a vocational training component to provide technical skills to young people in the community.
The Morobo tour is part of Adil’s broader engagement with communities across Central Equatoria State, focusing on peace and unity, security, education, health care and development.
