Documents Challenge Social Media Claims Surrounding Yolanda Awel Debate

Addressing controversy circulating across social media platforms, family members presented official correspondence and financial records to challenge allegations concerning Awel’s private life, residential arrangements, and relationships with senior government figures.
The family of Yolanda Awel Deng has released official documents to refute widespread online rumors and alleged misinformation regarding her ongoing public debate and divorce proceedings with Agel Ring Machar.
“These allegations are not based on facts,” a family representative stated. “They are being deliberately created and circulated to damage Awel’s reputation. We have documents, and the documents speak for themselves.”
Government Housing Notice
Among the records released is an official letter titled “FINAL NOTICE TO VACATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE NO. J 69,” issued by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr. Elia Lomuro.
The letter indicates that an earlier directive for Awel to vacate the property had expired, granting her a final seven-day deadline to surrender the keys and government property or face potential legal and administrative action.
The family maintains that this official notice directly disproves online claims suggesting Awel was permitted to occupy the government quarter due to a personal relationship with the Cabinet Affairs Minister.
“The document is clear. She was given a formal notice to leave the government house,” the family member added. “People cannot ignore an official document and replace it with rumors.”
Accommodation Invoices
Additionally, the family provided commercial tenancy invoices from Twins Tower Apartments, operated by Bibi’s Empire. The receipts explicitly list “Madam Yolanda” as the tenant responsible for the accommodation charges.
Family members stated these records clarify her housing arrangements and counter allegations linking her to business figure Bibi Ali.
“We are presenting these documents because the public deserves facts, not speculation,” another relative noted, urging social media users and the public to refrain from circulating unverified claims. “This affects a person’s dignity and reputation. We want the public to look at the evidence.”
The family expressed willingness to provide further documentation to counter what they termed as misleading narratives.
