SSNOC, Ministry of Youth and Sport Strengthen Partnership to Advance Sports Development

The President of the South Sudan National Olympic Committee (SSNOC), Choul Laam, and Secretary General Chol Anei on Tuesday held the first official meeting between the SSNOC leadership and the Ministry of Youth and Sport, marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration to develop sports in South Sudan.
The meeting focused on practical strategies to improve the country’s sporting ecosystem, with discussions centered on increasing support for National Sports Federations, strengthening governance structures, enhancing athlete development programs, and identifying new areas of cooperation between the two institutions.
The two sides also explored the possibility of undertaking regional benchmarking visits to learn from successful sports development models across Africa, with the aim of adopting best practices that can help elevate South Sudan’s sporting standards.
Both the SSNOC and the Ministry reaffirmed their commitment to working closely together to build a stronger and more sustainable sports sector. They emphasized that enhanced collaboration among key stakeholders is essential for nurturing talent, empowering national federations, and creating more opportunities for athletes.
The meeting concluded with a shared vision of positioning Team South Sudan for greater success at regional, continental, and international competitions through improved coordination, investment, and long-term sports development initiatives.
