Government Denies Reports of New Visa Policy Changes and Entry Fee Increases

The Ministry of Interior has dismissed reports circulating on social media and some media platforms claiming the government has introduced new visa exemptions and revised entry fees for foreign nationals.
In a statement, the ministry described the reports as “completely false,” denying claims that Egyptian and Tanzanian citizens had been granted visa-free entry or that new visa charges had been approved for foreigners entering the country.
The ministry said neither the Minister of Interior, Gen. Aleu Ayieny Aleu, nor the Directorate of Civil Registration, Citizenship, Passports, and Migration had issued any directives or official decisions regarding changes to the country’s visa system or immigration fees.
It emphasized that any amendments to immigration laws or visa regulations can only be implemented through approved legal procedures and officially communicated through government channels.
The ministry urged citizens, diplomatic missions, airlines, media organizations, and international partners to disregard the circulating information and rely only on official statements issued by the Ministry of Interior.
It reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and the timely dissemination of accurate information on immigration policies and other public matters.
