The governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State has donated two million South Sudanese Pounds to the Aweil students’ leadership in Upper Nile University.
Tong Aken Ngor, the governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State made the donation during graduation ceremony for Aweil students held at Nyakuron cultural center in Juba on Saturday.
Ngor said the money will be used to bankroll activities of students in Upper Nile University.
The governor also informed the students about the ongoing development projects that his administration is implementing in the state.
Dut Deng Mou, one of the graduates said that the money will support needy students who lack tuition fees.
“This support is so helpful it will change the lives of the students as most of us in the university hail from Aweil which is quite far,” Deng said.
He assured that the leadership of Deng Thalang Ayaga who heads the Aweil students association will ensure the money is put to proper use.
