South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Maryardit is expected to meet South Africa president Cyril Ramaphosa Wedneday for bilateral talks between Juba and Pretoria.
Kiir left Juba Tuesday morning for South Africa as reported by the “Office of the president” official Facebook page.
“The meeting slated for Wednesday will center on strengthening bilateral relations between Juba and Pretoria,” said the minister of presidential Affairs Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin.
Minister of Presidential Affairs Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin the talks will also focus on exploring the implementation of the Revatilzed Peace Agreement, Sudan’s crisis and regional issues.
Kiir and Ramaphosa will also discuss areas of mutual cooperation between SPLM and South African ruling ANC party.
The President is also expected to meet key South African officials and business leaders to promote trade and investment between the two nations.
“South Sudan looks forward to bolstering its long-standing relationship with South Africa and enhance collaborations towards achieving sustainable peace and development,” he said.
The ANC has been supporting SPLM/A during the Sudanese civil war proclaiming it shared a common such as racism of the oppressors (Arabs and the British colony) and the ANC has continued to the support the peace agreement.
