Unity State Ministry of Peacebuilding discouraged rampant gangs fighting

Director of Unity State Ministry of Peacebuilding Stephen Nguen Tot stated that his Ministry discouraged the fighting of the gangs in the most populated area of the Bentiu Internally Displaced Persons camp after 15 people were killed.

“We are aware of these gang groups targeting people and each other, as happened last week in Bentiu IDP camp, one person was killed.” Said State Ministry of Peacebuilding Director Stephen Nguen Tot.

He added that the Ministry of Peacebuilding in collaboration with the Search for Common Ground came up with amicable solutions to end gang fighting especially in the most populated areas of Bentiu Internally Displaced Person camp and Rubkona town.

” As the State Ministry of Peacebuilding the government, along with our partners, aim to eradicate and engage these groups to promote peace. this issue will come to an end. In an interview, the Director for Unity State Ministry of Peacebuilding told Juba Echo.
This year more than 15 people lost their lives due to gang fighting in the Bentiu IDP camp and Rubkona town and more than 19 youths were detained in connection with gang fighting and the killing of innocent people at night hours.
