SSRA Commissioner General Meets Nimule Mayor to Address Border Challenges
South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA) Commissioner General Amb. Moun Deng Ajuet has met with the Mayor of Nimule Municipal Council, H.W. Caesar Longa Fuli, as part of his three-day field visit to the border town.
The meeting focused on key issues affecting operations at the Nimule Border Port, including revenue administration, trade facilitation, security, border operations and challenges faced by traders and the local community.
The engagement, held Monday, aimed to strengthen coordination between the SSRA and Nimule Municipal Council and identify practical measures to address challenges affecting the movement of goods and services through the border.
The discussions also underscored the importance of cooperation between national revenue authorities and local administration in improving border operations, facilitating legitimate trade and enhancing revenue collection.
Commissioner General Moun is in Nimule as part of a high-level field visit to assess challenges affecting revenue administration and collection and to engage stakeholders on measures to improve operations along the Juba–Nimule trade corridor.
