SSPDF donates exercise books to Rubkona primary school in Unity State

The South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) on Friday donated 240 exercise books to primary eight candidates in Rubkona primary school of Unity State.

The donation was overseen by Maj.Gen William Manyang Mayak, the commander of SSPDF infantry division four stationed in the state.

“We the SSPDF will continue to support education to transform this country to be a better South Sudan through an intensified education program for all children and adults,” said Maj.Gen Mayak.

The exercise books came at the time when primary eight candidates are preparing to sit for the South Sudan primary eight national examinations.

Mayak said that SSPDF collaborated with Angelina Teny the minister of defense and veteran affairs to supply the books to learners.

“Our main purpose for donating these school exercise books is to promote and encourage peace, and let the citizens know that we are for peace,” said Mayak.

The Unity State Minister of Education Totjok Chieng Pech welcomed the donation from the SSPDF, saying it is the first of it’s kind in the state.

“This donation is clear evidence that our army is ready for peace, and they need our children to be better children in the future,” said Pech.

“Let us not look at our soldiers as enemies, they want you to learn and to become better children in the future,” he added.
