South Sudan Diplomatic Institute, ICRC Conclude Training on Humanitarian Law

The Diplomatic Institute of South Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has concluded a three-day training on International Humanitarian Law and humanitarian diplomacy.

The training was organized by the Diplomatic Institute in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to strengthen participants’ knowledge and practical understanding of humanitarian law and diplomacy.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Amb. Ajiing Adiang Mariik, director general of the Diplomatic Institute.

Mariik encouraged participants to apply the knowledge and practical lessons gained during the training in carrying out their diplomatic responsibilities.

He thanked the ICRC for its continued cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration in strengthening capacity on International Humanitarian Law and humanitarian diplomacy.

The ICRC welcomed its continued partnership with the ministry and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting capacity-building efforts on International Humanitarian Law and humanitarian diplomacy in South Sudan.
