The two officials discussed the broader state of relations and cooperation between Juba and Washington, alongside an update on the Ebola situation in the country. Ambassador Adler outlined the support the United States continues to extend, particularly through its work with the Ministry of Health.

Hon. Minister Dr. Morgan underscored the lasting partnership between the two nations, noting that the visit was an opportunity to further enhance joint collaboration and exchange views on shared priorities.

As part of the visit, Ambassador Adler and the Hon. Dr. Oromo Francis, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at deepening collaboration in the health sector, marking a further step in strengthening joint efforts to improve health outcomes and resilience in South Sudan.

Hon. Minister Dr. Morgan reiterated that South Sudan has recorded no Ebola cases, pointing to the Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen disease surveillance and readiness. He also addressed the recent U.S. travel advisory, stressing that it does not reflect the situation on the ground, as the country remains Ebola-free.
