Residents urges African Development Bank to extend its projects to other counties

The community in Eastern Equatoria State urges the African Development Bank to extend its projects to other counties.

The African Development Bank celebrated 60 years of service in 81 countries. The celebration took place in African countries, as well as non-regional countries, on February 25, 2025.

Themba Bhebhe, the Country Manager of the African Development Bank in South Sudan, expressed that the anniversary was an opportunity to look towards the future. He emphasized the importance of

 reflecting on how the Bank can further contribute to the socio-economic transformation of Africa and better respond to the aspirations of the African people.

Bhebhe thanked everyone for attending the celebration on behalf of the President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina. He highlighted the progress made by the Bank over the years and its commitment to supporting the development of the African continent through various projects and initiatives.

The community chairperson for a water supply project in Eastern Equatoria urged the Bank to extend its projects to other counties in the region to alleviate the suffering of the community, especially women.

Established on September 10, 1964, the African Development Bank’s main objective is to promote sustainable economic growth and reduce poverty in Africa.
