Armed forces collect 100 guns ahead of Christmas festivities in Bentiu


The Unity State police spokesman and Criminal Investigation Officer, Captain, John Malith Kuek has confirmed to Juba Echo that the joint forces have collected 100 guns in order to secure the town before the Christmas festivities.
” We have collected 100 guns and we also collected more than 200 long knives, spears, and pangas because “gang groups” were using those light weapons for fighting among themselves, I assure you that this Christmas celebration will be the most peaceful in Bentiu. ” Said Captain Malith Kuek, who is Unity States Police spokesman

He added that the goal of collecting guns was to have a peaceful Christmas celebration in the town.
He urged various youth groups to refrain from engaging in criminal activities during Christmas celebrations and end-of-year celebrations.
“This time, criminals will not be able to disrupt our well-organized Christmas celebration. We have deployed over 400 Police forces in Bentiu town, Bentiu IDP camp, Rubkona town, and along the roads,” Captain Malith added
The Unity State Police forces and South Sudan People’s Defense Force have jointly deployed heavy forces to protect civilians during the Christmas festivities in the Unity State.
