The Central Equatoria State Minister of Health, Hon. Joyce Bakwa, has called for stronger collaboration between the Church, communities, and the government to improve healthcare delivery and promote the well-being of citizens across the state.
Speaking after a Holy Mass, Hon. Bakwa said achieving better health outcomes, lasting peace, and sustainable development requires a collective effort from all sectors of society.
“The Church gives us moral guidance, the community gives us strength, and the government provides services. If we work hand in hand, we can overcome disease, poverty, and ignorance in our state,” she said.
The Minister underscored the important role of faith-based institutions in promoting health awareness, fostering peace, and supporting vulnerable groups. She also encouraged community leaders to mobilize residents to participate in key public health initiatives, including vaccination campaigns, maternal healthcare services, and sanitation programs.
Hon. Bakwa reaffirmed the Ministry of Health’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with churches and community structures to ensure essential health services reach people in every part of Central Equatoria State.
The Holy Mass was attended by clergy, government officials, and members of the community, who gathered in prayer and reflection on the importance of unity, service, and shared responsibility in advancing the state’s development.
