The Governor of the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), Dr. Addis Ababa Othow, convened a strategic alignment meeting on Friday with senior executive leadership to reinforce institutional governance and bolster central bank operations.The high-level session brought together deputy governors, directors-general, directors, and deputy directors to outline leadership accountability, operational efficiency, and execution of the central bank's core mandate.Addressing management, Dr. Othow underscored that institutional credibility hinges on integrity, transparency, and professional excellence across leadership tiers.“The Board, the Governor, Deputy Governors, and Executive Management must demonstrate a collective commitment to upholding the Bank’s mandate, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, strengthening institutional governance, and delivering measurable results,” Dr. Othow said.He urged department heads to lead by example, foster internal accountability, and ensure policy goals translate into tangible economic outcomes.Highlighting ongoing macroeconomic uncertainties and evolving financial technology, Dr. Othow stressed the importance of building institutional resilience against external shocks.“The future of central banking will be shaped by the ability to anticipate shocks, adapt to technological change, preserve institutional credibility, and deliver monetary and financial stability,” he noted, adding that BoSS must position itself through “technical excellence, innovation, and decisive execution.”The session concluded with agreements on enhancing cross-departmental coordination to maintain price and overall financial stability across South Sudan.
