The Commissioner General of the South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA), Rizik Dominic Samuel, has briefed Senior Presidential Envoy on Special Programs Adut Kiir Mayardit on the authority’s institutional challenges and priority areas requiring support.Samuel paid a courtesy call on Mayardit in Juba, where he presented findings from his initial assessment of the authority since assuming office.He said he had been reviewing institutional reports and engaging with SSRA staff to gain a better understanding of the authority’s operations, existing challenges and institutional needs.During the meeting, Samuel outlined the key challenges identified so far and highlighted priority areas requiring support to strengthen the authority’s operations and improve its capacity to fulfil its mandate.The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss institutional cooperation and the need for support to address the challenges facing the revenue authority.Strengthening the SSRA’s institutional capacity is expected to support its efforts to improve revenue mobilisation and contribute to South Sudan’s national development.Photo Credit: SSRA
