JUBA CITY COUNCIL CALLS FOR FULL PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN SATURDAY CLEAN-UP EXERCISE

Juba City Council calls on all residents, businesses, institutions and other stakeholders across the city to fully participate in the weekly Saturday clean-up exercise, in accordance with the directive issued by the Governor of Central Equatoria State, H.E. Emmanuel Adil Anthony.

Under the directive, every Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m is designated for general cleaning activities. During these hours, all shops, businesses and other private commercial activities are required to close to allow owners, employees and members of the public to take part in cleaning their premises and surrounding areas.

Juba City Council therefore urges all business owners, institutions and relevant authorities to cooperate fully with the implementation of the directive and ensure that their premises and surrounding areas are kept clean.

Households and residents are equally encouraged to clean their homes, compounds, streets, drainage areas and surrounding public spaces. Collected waste should be properly gathered and placed at designated collection points, where Juba City Council waste collection trucks will pick it up for proper disposal.

The City Council appeals to residents not to dump waste indiscriminately on roads, in drainage channels or other public spaces. Waste should only be placed at designated collection points to facilitate effective collection and maintain a clean and healthy environment.

The Saturday clean-up exercise requires the collective participation of government institutions, businesses, communities, households and every resident of Juba.

Keeping Juba clean, green and safe is a shared responsibility.

We therefore call upon everyone to cooperate and dedicate these three hours every Saturday to making our capital cleaner, healthier and safer for all.
