South Sudan, Sudan Resume High-Level Security Talks in Juba

South Sudan and Sudan have resumed high-level political and security talks in Juba after a multi-year hiatus, with senior officials discussing border security and other issues affecting the two neighboring countries.

A Sudanese delegation arrived in Juba on Sunday for meetings of the Joint Political and Security Mechanism (JPSM), established under the 2012 Cooperation Agreement between South Sudan and Sudan.

The talks are expected to focus on strengthening security cooperation, addressing border-related concerns and advancing bilateral relations.

The resumption of the JPSM meetings comes as the two countries seek to strengthen cooperation on shared security and political interests.

The talks are expected to provide an opportunity for both sides to address outstanding concerns and reaffirm their commitment to peaceful cooperation and regional stability.
