Governor Adil Inspects Lainya Hospital, Calls for Renovation, Expansion and Improved Health Services

The Governor of Central Equatoria State, H.E. Emmanuel Adil Anthony, accompanied by state ministers and senior security officials, has visited Lainya Hospital to assess its condition and identify challenges affecting the delivery of health services.

The visit took place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, as part of the state government’s ongoing tour across the state.

During the visit, Governor Adil inspected the hospital facilities and received a briefing on the challenges facing both health workers and patients.

The Governor observed that Lainya Hospital requires urgent renovation and expansion, noting that the existing facility is too small to adequately serve the growing population.

He also identified shortages of human resources and essential medicines as among the major challenges affecting the hospital.

Governor Adil directed the Central Equatoria State Minister of Health to prioritize the renovation of the hospital, assess its basic needs, ensure the availability of essential medicines, and work on addressing the shortage of qualified health personnel.

Speaking to the media during the visit, the Central Equatoria State Minister of Health Joyce Pakua said the ministry’s first priority is to improve health infrastructure across all health institutions in the state’s six counties.

The Minister Pakua said the government is also working to ensure the availability of medicines and the deployment of skilled health personnel to county and state hospitals.

The visit to Lainya Hospital is part of the Central Equatoria State Government’s efforts to assess challenges facing communities and strengthen the delivery of essential services, particularly in the health sector.

The state government says improving health infrastructure, providing essential medicines and deploying qualified personnel will remain key priorities in improving healthcare services for the people of Central Equatoria State.
