South Sudan to Launch End Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases Council

The Ministry of Health is set to launch the End Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) Council, a new national initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s fight against malaria and neglected tropical diseases.

The launch, scheduled to take place at the Pyramid Continental Hotel in Juba on 25th July 2026, will bring together government officials, development partners, health experts and other stakeholders to reinforce national efforts to eliminate malaria and control neglected tropical diseases.

The Ministry of Health has invited media organizations to cover the event, which is expected to highlight the council’s mandate, strategic priorities and the role of partnerships in accelerating progress toward disease elimination in South Sudan.

Health authorities say the establishment of the council marks an important step in mobilizing political commitment, resources and community action to reduce the burden of malaria and neglected tropical diseases, which continue to affect thousands of people across the country.Category: Health / Public Health
