South Sudan is set to host its first-ever Global Logistics Convention 2026, a landmark event aimed at attracting regional and international investors to the country’s growing logistics, transport, and freight forwarding sectors.

The convention, organized by the South Sudan Freight Forwarders Association (SSFFA) in partnership with the Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Associations (FEAFFA), will run from August 25–27, 2026, at the Pyramid Continental Hotel in Juba.

The three-day event is expected to bring together policymakers, logistics experts, freight forwarders, transport operators, investors, and business leaders from across East Africa and beyond to address opportunities and bottlenecks within the region’s supply chains.

Speaking during the official launch, the Minister of Energy and Dams, Agok Makur Kur, stated that the government remains committed to creating a conducive environment for investment and private sector growth.

“The policy of the government is to invite investors not only from outside the country but also from within South Sudan so that our citizens can benefit from the country’s resources and economic opportunities,” Agok said.

He noted that targeted investments in logistics and transportation infrastructure are critical to supporting trade, economic diversification, and broader regional integration.

SSFFA President Deng Daniel described the convention as a historic milestone for both the nation and the local logistics industry.

“This convention will be the first of its kind in South Sudan,” Deng said. “We expect many investors from across the East African Community to attend and explore opportunities in the logistics and freight forwarding sector.”

Deng added that the convention will provide a dedicated platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and showcasing investment opportunities in freight transportation, customs clearance, warehousing, cargo handling, and supply chain management.

According to the organizers, the event is positioned to strengthen regional trade linkages, improve collaboration among industry stakeholders, and market South Sudan as an emerging logistics hub within East Africa.

While South Sudan’s strategic location offers a natural link between East and Central Africa, stakeholders maintain that sustained investment in transport infrastructure, trade facilitation, and logistics services remains essential to unlocking the country’s full economic potential.

The Global Logistics Convention 2026 is expected to inject fresh momentum into ongoing efforts to improve regional connectivity and support South Sudan’s integration into East African and continental trade markets.
