Energy Minister Meets Western Bahr el Ghazal Governor to Discuss Wau Electricity Project
Minister of Energy and Dams Hon. Agok Makur met Wednesday with Western Bahr el Ghazal State Gov. Gen. Sharif Daniel Sharif in Juba to discuss challenges facing the Wau city electricity project and plans to expand power services across the state.
The governor briefed the minister on the project’s progress and key challenges, including connecting electricity to all parts of Wau and its suburbs, expanding power coverage to other counties in the state and ensuring a reliable 24-hour electricity supply.
Sharif invited Makur to visit Western Bahr el Ghazal to assess the state’s electricity infrastructure and the challenges affecting power delivery.
Makur thanked the governor for the briefing and pledged the ministry’s support in addressing obstacles facing the electricity sector in the state.
He said the ministry remains committed to improving the reliability and availability of electricity services for residents.
Makur accepted the invitation and said he plans to visit Western Bahr el Ghazal at the beginning of September to inspect electricity infrastructure and assess the project’s needs.
