President Kiir direct Minister of Health to address the key underlying challenges confronting the country’s health sector

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has directed the newly appointed Minister of Health, Sarah Cleto Rial, to address the key underlying challenges confronting the country’s health sector, emphasizing the need for change and improved service delivery.
The President issued the directive during the official swearing-in of Minister Sarah on Wednesday, describing her appointment as well-deserved. He encouraged the Minister to implement reforms in the health sector, while appealing to all South Sudanese to denounce division and work towards building a united and peaceful nation.
Interim SPLM-IO Chairman Stephen Par Kuol, who was present at the ceremony, described the Ministry of Health as a place of life and death, stressing that it requires effective leadership and full commitment. He praised the President for appointing Minister Sarah, noting that her appointment comes at a crucial time as the nation intensifies efforts to improve healthcare delivery.
Minister Sarah expressed her gratitude to the President for entrusting her with the responsibility and vowed to serve diligently to realize the aspirations of the people. She also pledged to ensure transparency and accountability in her work, promising results-based performance in service to the nation.
