NGO launches access to justice project for vulnerable people in Unity state
The non-governmental organization Action for Conflict Resolution (ACR) has launched six months project to enable vulnerable people in Unity state access justice, security and human rights services.
Iyaa Dominic, ACR project officer said that the project being implemented in Bentiu town and Bentiu internally displaced persons camp will provide services to women, girls and survivors of sexual- gender based violence (SGBV) and returnees who fled conflict in neighboring Sudan.
He told Juba Echo on Monday that the project is funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The launching of the new project was witnessed by state government officials, women groups, chiefs, and youth representatives.
Yien Padiel Tut, a member of Unity State transitional legislative assembly thanked ACR for providing services to vulnerable women and girls.
Raan Nguany Chakuoth, ACR field coordinator said they will work hand- in- hand with the community to promote peace, justice and human rights.
“This project will actually enable women, girls and SGBV survivors, IDPs and returnees in Unity State,” he said.
