Disease outbreak leaves several heads of cattle dead in Aweil Center

Over 100 heads of cattle have been confirmed dead following outbreak of mysterious cattle disease in Aweil Center County of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.
Luka Manut Jel, Director General in the State Ministry of Animal Resources, said their teams on the ground on 30 March reported about the unknown cattle disease.
“The team that we sent for assessment started with Umoro payam where they found 70 heads of cattle dead in Barakat cattle camp, and also in Raja they found more than 30 heads of cattle dead,” he told Juba Echo on Wednesday.
Manut said they suspect Trypanosomiasis caused by tsetse flies to be the cause of death.
