The two (2 ) weeks seminar for 31 journalists from 13 countries, members of the Belt and Road initiatives aims to bridge communication gaps, advance communication flow amongst member countries and the people’s Republic of China.
The coordinator for the journalists’ seminar at Zhejiang Normal University, professor Chris Yu Tao said the seminar, which had been taking place in the different provinces of China, is to give knowledge about China to the outer world through the journalists.
He said the seminar enables more coordination to help build media gap in the other countries as well as China will also get to know of the member countries of the Belt and Road Initiatives.
“It is a chance for understanding each other better. We can understand your country and get a common understand about media and more cooperation, meeting each other and doing cultural exchange,” he said.
The program to Chris is better with journalist involvement to enable them get to understand how the media has enabled and shaped the image of China.
Zhehiang Normal University has over 1000 African students in the university under the exchange programs enabling them study of China diversity, culture and much more.
Muhammad Jamal Abu Khdier the representative of the participants during the closing ceremony regarded the opportunity as a fruitful exchange between journalists and experts as it provided profound insights into the media industry in China, and enhanced operational capacity, skills, and managerial ability.
“We have been a vital part of this seminar that will hopefully train a lot of our peers and colleagues to improve News Media for people in Belt and Road countries and to strengthen the link that has been existing since a long time between China and Belt and Road countries,” he said. “These issues have far-reaching impacts on areas such as mass media, social changes, convergence media, traditional culture communication, identity building, talent cultivation, culture communication,” he said.
Jamshed Olimov the head of information department of the state government of Dushanbe (Tajikistan) who also acted as a representative during the training said the training is part of the bilateral ties with China and member countries of the Belt and Road seminars had.
“China has set an outstanding example for developing countries with world-shocking achievements it has made in the past decades,” he said.
The seminar is said to bring about national cohesion, free press, protection of Human Rights and adherence to the Rule of Law, Free Quality education and promotion of women’s rights and participation in governance, and to learning from Chinese experience.
He added that that the training will help further cement stronger bilateral ties among the participating countries．
