The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General and Humanitarian Coordinator, Anita Kiki Gbehu has urged young people to seriously pursue education in order to realize their dreams.
“For all of you as youth you need to be passionate as you move along, you have to make sure that you truly work as professionals,” Kiki told journalists on Wednesday during the engagement with youth at Scenius Hub in Juba.
Kiki said that youth have opportunity to realize their dreams through education and capacity building program across South Sudan.
She asked the youth to be organized in order to advocate for their interests.
The majority of the population in the country are youth between 15 and 29 years who are deemed illiterate.
According to 2021 population estimation survey, South Sudan youth make up 74 percent of the population.
