By Hou Akot Hou

Some 15 youth from Northern Bahr El Gazal State have been sent to attend technical and vocational training in neighboring Western Bahr El Ghazal State.

This was revealed on Thursday by Tito Awen, the Chairperson for youth in Northern Bahr El Gazal State.

He said the youth are beneficiaries of a two-year scholarship offered by Valentino Achak Deng Foundation (VADF).

“These youths are going to study carpentry, masonry, information technology, electricity and embroidery,” Awen told Juba Echo in Aweil town.

He advised the beneficiaries to take seriously the training since it provides them opportunity to improve their livelihoods.

“In the world-over, you can’t find people doing technical works which are very beneficial and highly paying. Why always rely on the foreigners to do work for us buildings and other technical stuffs,” Awen said.

Moses Diing Deng, one of the beneficiaries said they will need to learn new skills to make ends meet.

“This opportunity availed to us is superb indeed. If the project is carried on as planned by VADF then it will transform most of families,” he said.

VADF has availed 2 million South Sudanese Pounds to cater for the technical and vocational training in Wau.
