Yei ECSS New Bishop enthroned

Right Reverend Levi Marandulu Yepete has been consecrated and enthroned as the new and third Bishop for the Episcopal Diocese of Yei in an event presided over by the Episcopal Church of South Sudan primate Justine Badi Arama at the Yei Emmanuel Cathedral Church on Sunday.
Hundreds of faithful gathered at the church to witness the consecration of Levi Marandulu replacing Hillary Luate Adeba who retired late last year.
Primate and Archbishop of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, Justin Badi Arama urges the new church leader to take care of the people in the Yei Diocese.
“As the new leader of this great diocese, it is now your duty to be like leaders of Israel who take care of their faithful. May God see you in this call to serve him and his flock,” Justine Badi said.
On his part, the new bishop of the Yei Diocese pledged to work diligently for his God and congregation to bring about unity and sustainable peace.
A congregant in attendance at the event said, “We give all the glory to Jesus Christ because it is a new dawn and the diocese of Yei begins a new trajectory in its existence to minister and serve all people in its jurisdiction.”
“We congratulate Bishop Levi on this consecration and enthronement and invite all within the Church Mission Society family to keep him in prayer as he steps forward in faith. We also prayer for the diocese of Yei in this time of transition, and excitement as God’s people look into a new chapter in the life of the church,” reads a message extended by the Church Mission Society of Ireland.
Bishop Levi Marandulu was elected on Saturday, 8th May 2021.He was previously a deacon at the Agibi Archdeaconary and head of Theology College at Emmanuel Christian College in Tore Payam, Yei River County.
