UNMISS conducts public awareness on constitution making process in Unity state

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) on Tuesday  conducted two- day capacity building training and awareness on the upcoming electoral process and the ongoing constitutional making process in Bentiu town of Unity State.

At least more than 160 participants including state law makers and civil society groups attended the training aimed at preparing them to participate in the constitutional making process and the elections slated for December 2024.

The state minister for local government and law enforcement agencies, William Dak Koy thanked UNMISS civil affairs division conducting the awareness training on key aspects of the 2018 revitalized peace deal.

The Acting head of UNMISS field office, Sireh Jabang promised that they will continue to conduct awareness on the permanent constitutional making process and on the electoral process.

” UNMISS will continue to provide capacity building training on permanent constitutional making process, election awareness and institutional reform, the two days training will enable you to know more about the permanent constitutional making process, election process and the challenges facing the process,” Jabang said.

The two -day capacity building training on permanent Constitutional making process and the electoral process will close on October 4.
