The members of the Transitional Legislative Assembly of Unity State were sworn in on Thursday.
The State governor, Dr Joseph Monytuil oversaw the swearing in of the 92 members. Eight members missed out.
“I expect you to make a different in promoting peace, development among the community and you, as you all promised your citizens to work for peace and settle community disputes,” Monytuil told the MPs.
“I wish you to bring new changes with positive ideas in this state,” he said.
According to him, the exercise delayed because parties delayed in nominating members.
The Transitional Legislative Assembly is one of the requirements of South Sudan’s peace agreement.
